God’s Anger was Towards the Church

NASB_Ezekiel_8-16

God’s anger, disgust and hurt was not about the people of Israel, it was about the church, the temple and the priest. In the following chapters God let’s Ezekiel know what it going to take place because of these things. You notice in this chapter God shows how the priest thought they could hide from God and they would not be seen by Him…. how foolish.

What is different today? Spiritually people are being led in a thousand different directions, some are being led straight to hell and do not even realize it. Is it the pastor’s fault or the individual’s fault? Here is my advice…. YOU BETTER KNOW THE WORD, know what is truth and what is not. The problem today is everyone wants to hear what they want to hear, believe what they want to believe, so they find a leader, pastor, church they will tickle their ear. And then there is just the opposite of this, like the church that is so radical Westboro Baptist…. people are led and follow this too…. What is right?

People we have full access to GOD and to the HOLY SPIRIT through Jesus!! There is NOT an excuse for anyone. …chapter 8….

Then on September 17,[a] during the sixth year of King Jehoiachin’s captivity, while the leaders of Judah were in my home, the Sovereign Lord took hold of me. I saw a figure that appeared to be a man.[b] From what appeared to be his waist down, he looked like a burning flame. From the waist up he looked like gleaming amber.[c] He reached out what seemed to be a hand and took me by the hair. Then the Spirit lifted me up into the sky and transported me to Jerusalem in a vision from God. I was taken to the north gate of the inner courtyard of the Temple, where there is a large idol that has made the Lord very jealous. Suddenly, the glory of the God of Israel was there, just as I had seen it before in the valley.

Then the Lord said to me, “Son of man, look toward the north.” So I looked, and there to the north, beside the entrance to the gate near the altar, stood the idol that had made the Lord so jealous.

“Son of man,” he said, “do you see what they are doing? Do you see the detestable sins the people of Israel are committing to drive me from my Temple? But come, and you will see even more detestable sins than these!” Then he brought me to the door of the Temple courtyard, where I could see a hole in the wall. He said to me, “Now, son of man, dig into the wall.” So I dug into the wall and found a hidden doorway.

“Go in,” he said, “and see the wicked and detestable sins they are committing in there!” 10 So I went in and saw the walls covered with engravings of all kinds of crawling animals and detestable creatures. I also saw the various idols[d] worshiped by the people of Israel. 11 Seventy leaders of Israel were standing there with Jaazaniah son of Shaphan in the center. Each of them held an incense burner, from which a cloud of incense rose above their heads.

12 Then the Lord said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the leaders of Israel are doing with their idols in dark rooms? They are saying, ‘The Lord doesn’t see us; he has deserted our land!’” 13 Then the Lord added, “Come, and I will show you even more detestable sins than these!”

14 He brought me to the north gate of the Lord’s Temple, and some women were sitting there, weeping for the god Tammuz. 15 “Have you seen this?” he asked. “But I will show you even more detestable sins than these!”

16 Then he brought me into the inner courtyard of the Lord’s Temple. At the entrance to the sanctuary, between the entry room and the bronze altar, there were about twenty-five men with their backs to the sanctuary of the Lord. They were facing east, bowing low to the ground, worshiping the sun!

17 “Have you seen this, son of man?” he asked. “Is it nothing to the people of Judah that they commit these detestable sins, leading the whole nation into violence, thumbing their noses at me, and provoking my anger? 18 Therefore, I will respond in fury. I will neither pity nor spare them. And though they cry for mercy, I will not listen.”

Now go out and have an EPIC day… KNOW HIM

Some thoughts on life….. well my life.

ef4255429aff45548707c97befbae92a

The reason I write these things has nothing to do with me, I’m not in any type of pity party or looking for excuses, or anything else. As I grow older I realize the impact I could have had on so many. I have lived a life with so many regrets, although I realize I cannot change the past I can change the future. My hopes are that it will help others in some way… my children, grandchildren etc….Most of my life I lived as a liar, thief, and cheater. I have been very much a narcissist most of my life….I have lived for me for the most part. I have never been close enough to anyone in my life to be open and honest, never had best friends throughout my life, the funny part is I bragged about this, I was prideful and arrogant.

I am very thankful for my wife Diane and my counselor Dr. D who both loved me enough to help me walk through all the stuff in my life to see the light. The problem with seeing the light is then you are able to see all the darkness from the past………..

I want to take some time and write about my life, my struggles, my challenges, my mistakes and my advice. I am not doing this for pity, for attention but in the hopes it will help someone else. I imagine it happens to all of us as we grow older, we begin to look back at our lives and realize what we have done with our lives, what impact we have made, how our lives affect our families, our children, grandchildren, the people we have worked with, been in deep relationships with etc. I have a deep burning desire to find a way to shake sense/truth into my children and the younger people that are in my life now.

As a young man I had no thoughts of the future, I lived for today in every aspect of my life. Even as a young boy my life was about the moment…. I guess that is probably true and it should be that way to some extent as a child, enjoy childhood, learn how to play, how to have friends etc. When I got into jr. high school and it was time to start growing up, learning responsibility, how to study, how to find a path in life I didn’t think twice about it. I was more interested in getting into the right crowd, to fit in with the one that seemed so cool and popular,  and that carried with through High school. I did not give education a second thought, I couldn’t wait to get out of HS so I could be my own man, party as I wanted, do what I wanted and when I wanted.

When I got to HS I was still pretty innocent when it came to alcohol and drugs, I dabbled a little, tried a drinking smoking pot but was not a big part of my life. There was one guy in HS that was coolest guy in school. I wanted to be friends with him, because that would get me into to right crowd. One night I saw him at a place called “the white room” it was a small little place where bands would come that was opened to teens. (saw some greats there by the way). On Monday he says to me “hey I saw you at the white room Friday night, man you looked like you where wiped out, what was you on?” without a second thought I told him I took LSD and we became very good friends after that day. The problem was our friendship was based on drugs I had never done before…. and so I started taking them with him and all his friends. This was a MAJOR life change for me that was not healthy and carried into me life for years.

I can recall my brother in law Jack who tried so very hard to invest into my life, help me study, teach me how desperately I needed an education to make it in this new world of technology. A career to raise a family, save for the future and a secure life. I think inside I was touched that he did this, but on the outside I just blew him off and laughed at him. He must have been so frustrated with me!!

As a young man I was always trying to be something I wasn’t — here is an example. In high school I worked at the mall at the karmelCorn shop. It was located right in the center of the mall, on one side of the shop was Leeds shoes and on the other was Hardy’s shoes, Leeds was a women’s’ shoe store and Hardy’s was a men’s. The guys that worked there looked so cool to me, they dressed in nice clothes, they were the popular guys in the mall, all the girls would hang out with them and after work they all headed out to party. I would serve them up their cokes and popcorn and they never said a word to me. I would stand and watch them every day thinking that’s what I want to do, that’s who I want to be. How is that for a life dream? LOL. After I got out of HS (I did not graduate by the way) I started buying the coolest clothes I could and tried to get the right haircut and headed to the shoe stores to find my dream job. It didn’t take long to land a job and to get going. I soon realized that they didn’t make much money and I wondered how they lived the way they did making the money they made. I discovered 2 things.. first you had to get to management to make any decent money and second most of them were stealing money from the company to party and dress nice. I remember my first manager showing me how to do it so you wouldn’t get caught.

Soon I was worked my way into management and I was on my way for the next almost 20 years. Here is what was most important to me during that time of my life…..

Being popular ~ Having girls chase after me ~ Dressing well ~ acting and looking like I was somebody important ~ Being at the coolest bars/clubs ~

And here is the sad part, I was married with children and I really didn’t care about them at all. I mean I did care and I can say I did love them but my actions showed something completely different. I was good at living two separate lives…. at home a husband and father but at work a man that was all about fun and living the crazy life. Sadly so many things in my life followed me just about all of my life, I learned to control them better, or hide them…… I would fight them even and have seasons of victory only to fall into the same traps later on down the road.

Here is the point of my writing this ~ most of my life I have lived a very foolish life ~ That does not feel very good to say, but as I grow older and headed towards the end of my life this haunts me in some very deep ways. In the past 50 years of my life I have left behind me many messes, many broken people, many broken employers, and not much to show for living in this world. With that said I know I have done good in this world also, there have been lives that I’ve touched and helped along the way. So I want you to know I’m not feeling sorry for myself AT ALL, this is not about me.

It’s about what I will leave behind me, what have I taught my children? I have 3 son’s, 1 adopted son, and 5 son-in-laws and 5 grandsons and I question what have I done to impact their lives and teach them how to be a man of honor and integrity, a man that loves his wife with all he has, a man that loves and cherishes his children with EVERYTHING, a man that plans for the future, takes care of business. A man that sacrifices his life for his family. Like I said I have lived a life of a fool for most of my life, I am paying for it now. I can be the very best I can be for the rest of my years and that is my plan.

Here is a letter I wrote my sons recently….

I feel this ugency to write you all and just say a few things to you. I have lived a life that has many mistakes, bad decisions, and regrets. Each choice that I made in my life has consequences, some are in the moment and some are paid further down the road in life.

Most of everything in life choices are based on personal and private struggles, thoughts and lust in our lives, inner struggles that we keep private and some are just stupid choices based on the moment. The good news is all things can be forgiven and you can move on but sometimes there are damages that will last a lifetime.

Here are some things I want to share with you all…..

    1. Have a man in your life that you can tell everything to, your deepest thoughts and secrets, someone that will hold you accountable for your life, actions and words. I have found through the years that there are NOT very many men who know how to do this, do whatever it takes to learn the art of accountability. This one thing can save your life, your marriage and save you from making some horrible choices in your life. This takes hard work and dedication, it takes a man that is willing to do what it takes to be all he is meant to be as a man, husband, father, grandfather, worker and friend. And be a man in another’s life…. Pour yourself into others.
    2. Your health. As young men we live as though we will never die and with that mindset we do not take good care of of bodies. As we grow older we loose our hair, teeth, hearing, eyesight, we gain weight and we loose muscle mass.  While you are young eat clean, exercise, go to the Dr regularly and have your eyes checked, if there are problems TAKE care of them. (I am going blind at 63 years old because I did not listen to the Dr’s I thought it couldn’t happen to me) Have your exams on a regular basis, prostrate, heart, colon, blood pressure, etc.. take care of your skin, the sun will GIVE YOU CANCER and it can kill you. (I worshipped the sun for years, had to have the best tan and in reality it was all wrapped up in pride, today I have skin cancer on so many parts of my body it’s scary) this is SO important. If you lose your health you cannot work and you cannot enjoy your children and grandchildren as they deserve. Your health is as important as your spiritual, physical side of life. Even the healthiest can get sick and die but YOU can prevent so many things with care.
    3. Your Careers. While you are young work hard and ALWAYS have tomorrow in mind for tomorrow will come sooner than you think. Work hard, plan your path and SAVE for your future. Work hard but work smart, do not neglect your time with you wife, children and family. Work with the future in mind, save money, invest in retirement and have a solid plan. I personally have learned this the hard way. All of my life I worked like it was today and didn’t worry about tomorrow, I always figured I would find a way. Tomorrow is here for me son and I have nothing, no way to retire, my prayers are I do not get sick and become unable to work. It is a scary place to be. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE IN THIS SITUATION. I learned from my brother Cary, he finished school at night while working full time to support his family. Landed a decent job and retired from that job at age 56 – he now makes more money retired than I do working 50 hours a week. Sit down with him and pick his brain. This is very important to be able to enjoy the last chapter in your life with family.
  • Your Finances. First and most important if you are a Christian TITHE!! Honor God with all that you make and watch and see what He does. IF you are not a Christian give away 10% of your income to a charity, needy families whatever. Give it AWAY!! Secondly save and invest in your retirement and future. Thirdly be generous with what you have with family, friends. NEVER LEND money, if someone ask for a loan be willing to “give” it to them with no expectations of getting it back. IF they pay you back it’s a blessing!! Put your wife and your family ahead of you when it comes to your finances, you will never be sorry for this attitude. Pay your bills on time and protect your credit. SO IMPORTANT!!! Remember you cannot take a bank account with you when you die, you cannot take houses, cars, boats, collectables, you cannot take ANYTHING with you, it will all rust and fade away over time. And lastly, take the responsibility of handling the finances in your home. Do it with honor and integrity and bless your wife and children knowing that they are secure.
  • In your life lead your wife and family, be a leader in the home. Pray for your wife, your children, pray for their future, their future wives and husbands, their careers, school, future children. Guide them through life with tenderness and love. Be honest with your family in everything. Lead them into maturity with integrity, show them the way. DO NOT EVER have the attitude that your children need to experiment and will be “typical” teenagers… LOVE THEM THROUGH the teen years.
  • Love Your Children with all your hearts, teach them how to walk through this life. Be gentle and be at the same time be tough. DO NOT BREAK their spirit with your anger or lashing out. Love them, teach them, walk with them, trust them. Teach them how to work, how to save, how to date, how to do LIFE!!
  • Son, live your life in private the exact way you do in public, who you are in private when nobody is looking is who you are.

I think that I have the best family in the world and I have made so many mistakes over the years. How I wish I could do so many things over again. How I wish I had a father who would have taught me how to be a man, spiritual truths, how to handle money, pay bills, how to treat my children, how to have integrity. When I was a teenager I saw my father for the first time outside our home, his actions, words were totally different, it hurt but something changed in me that day…. I thought that was how it was suppose to be, live one way at home and another with the boys. WRONG!!!!! The attitude of “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” is NO WAY to live a life.

Be strong in your beliefs, have integrity, be assessable to your family and friends, walk in humility in all you do. Trust the Lord your God with all your heart, make Him more important that your wife and family…. All of life will fall into place.

I love each one of you and I’m very proud of each one of you. I see the potential you all have and I’m so very proud of you. Don’t throw this letter away son, hold on to it and go back to it often.

I love you with all of my heart

Dad

God’s LOVE is Amazing

th

This chapter changed my life many years ago. I was living a life with secrets that was taking place behind closed doors that nobody knew about. I was crying out to God for deliverance, for him to help me out… I was to a place where I actually thought God would not expose me because it would ruin His name… to protect his character and honor He would protect me and deal with me privately. I must have read this chapter over and over again for days and then one day it totally broke me and I fell on my face before Him seeking forgiveness and I was FREED of my sin at that moment. It was a long road making things right with people around me but I did it!!

I realized through this chapter that God will not be mocked, he is NOT worried about his reputation or my reputation at all. He will do whatever it takes to get our attention. He LOVES me/us so much that he would expose and shame us to change us, clean us up.

Unfortunately I am a human being and found myself in the same place again many years later (not the same sin) thinking that God would protect me to protect his name…. how foolish can a man be? This second time God fulfilled these Scriptures in my life in so many ways. The good news is when it all went down I was taken back to this Word and was able to break in an instant!!! God’s LOVE IS AMAZING!!! And that my friend is the TRUTH and a very good word for today! Take some time a go through these scriptures….meditate upon them … see your life within them.

Then this message came to me from the Lord: “Son of man, this is what the Sovereign Lord says to Israel:

“The end is here!
    Wherever you look—
east, west, north, or south—
    your land is finished.
No hope remains,
for I will unleash my anger against you.
I will call you to account
    for all your detestable sins.
I will turn my eyes away and show no pity.
I will repay you for all your detestable sins.
Then you will know that I am the Lord.

“This is what the Sovereign Lord says:
Disaster after disaster
    is coming your way!
The end has come.
    It has finally arrived.
    Your final doom is waiting!
O people of Israel, the day of your destruction is dawning.
The time has come; the day of trouble is near.
Shouts of anguish will be heard on the mountains,
    not shouts of joy.
Soon I will pour out my fury on you
and unleash my anger against you.
I will call you to account
    for all your detestable sins.
I will turn my eyes away and show no pity.
I will repay you for all your detestable sins.
Then you will know that it is I, the Lord,
    who is striking the blow.

10 “The day of judgment is here;
    your destruction awaits!
The people’s wickedness and pride
    have blossomed to full flower.
11 Their violence has grown into a rod
that will beat them for their wickedness.
None of these proud and wicked people will survive.
All their wealth and prestige will be swept away.
12 Yes, the time has come;
    the day is here!
Buyers should not rejoice over bargains,
    nor sellers grieve over losses,
for all of them will fall
    under my terrible anger.
13 Even if the merchants survive,
they will never return to their business.
For what God has said applies to everyone—
    it will not be changed!
Not one person whose life is twisted by sin
    will ever recover.

14 “The trumpet calls Israel’s army to mobilize,
    but no one listens,
for my fury is against them all.
15 There is war outside the city
    and disease and famine within.
Those outside the city walls
will be killed by enemy swords.
Those inside the city
will die of famine and disease.
16 The survivors who escape to the mountains
will moan like doves, weeping for their sins.
17 Their hands will hang limp,
their knees will be weak as water.
18 They will dress themselves in burlap;
horror and shame will cover them.
They will shave their heads
    in sorrow and remorse.

19 “They will throw their money in the streets,
tossing it out like worthless trash.
Their silver and gold won’t save them
on that day of the Lord’s anger.
It will neither satisfy nor feed them,
for their greed can only trip them up.
20 They were proud of their beautiful jewelry
and used it to make detestable idols and vile images.
Therefore, I will make all their wealth
    disgusting to them.
21 I will give it as plunder to foreigners,
to the most wicked of nations,
    and they will defile it.
22 I will turn my eyes from them
as these robbers invade and defile my treasured land.

23 “Prepare chains for my people,
for the land is bloodied by terrible crimes.
    Jerusalem is filled with violence.
24 I will bring the most ruthless of nations
    to occupy their homes.
I will break down their proud fortresses
    and defile their sanctuaries.
25 Terror and trembling will overcome my people.
They will look for peace but not find it.
26 Calamity will follow calamity;
    rumor will follow rumor.
They will look in vain
for a vision from the prophets.
They will receive no teaching from the priests
and no counsel from the leaders.
27 The king and the prince will stand helpless,
    weeping in despair,
and the people’s hands
    will tremble with fear.
I will bring on them
the evil they have done to others,
and they will receive the punishment
    they so richly deserve.
Then they will know that I am the Lord.”

Now go out and have an EPIC day today!!!

Then they will know…..

I-Am-The-Lord-700

They will recognize how hurt I am by their unfaithful hearts and lustful eyes that long for their idols. Then at last they will hate themselves for all their detestable sins. 10 They will know that I alone am the Lord ~ Ezekiel 6

Here in Chapter 6 God is telling Ezekiel to speak to all the land that God is going to destroy the people, the leaders because of their false idols, their fake religion, turning their backs on the Lord. Here the bigger sin is the leaders leading people into false religion, leading them not to the Love of God but to the love of their false religion. God is NOT happy and he says that he will lay their bones out in front of their false idols for ALL TO SEE,… then they will know that HE IS GOD…

So what does this mean to you and me? How do you lead your family? How do you lead your co-workers? school mates? How do you lead your spouse? Are we pointing them to the altar of the living God or to our self made altars that we think will bring us happiness and joy? LIFE is all about THIS very thing!! Marriage is about this very thing!! Everything you do and say and participate in is about this…. being a LIGHT to show the world Jesus!! If you want to believe it or not life is just a flash in eternity!! It’s easier to believe you just live and then die…..not that simple!

And for the church, what does this mean? EVERYTHING THAT IS NOT OF GOD WILL BE EXPOSED AND BROUGHT TO LIGHT!! So we can choose to be a popular and rich church or we can speak truth and BE JESUS!!

Now go out and have an EPIC day today…

Do you really want to make God angry?

angry-god

This is how God deals with His people….Those who make a mockery of him. He is speaking about HIS CHOSEN people!! HIS LOVE, HIS HEARTBEAT….but they turned their back on Him, well they still said with their mouth that He was God and they served him but never EVER forget God sees all, He sees behind closed doors, He sees our hearts, our thoughts, our everything. YOU can hiding nothing from Him.

The Good news is he is speaking the to Ezekiel who God is preparing to send to speak to His beloved people to try and warn them…. turn turn turn!!! Any of this sound familiar?

Now go out and have a EPIC day today!!

Ezekiel 5

“Son of man, take a sharp sword and use it as a razor to shave your head and beard. Use a scale to weigh the hair into three equal parts. Place a third of it at the center of your map of Jerusalem. After acting out the siege, burn it there. Scatter another third across your map and chop it with a sword. Scatter the last third to the wind, for I will scatter my people with the sword. Keep just a bit of the hair and tie it up in your robe. Then take some of these hairs out and throw them into the fire, burning them up. A fire will then spread from this remnant and destroy all of Israel.

“This is what the Sovereign Lord says: This is an illustration of what will happen to Jerusalem. I placed her at the center of the nations, but she has rebelled against my regulations and decrees and has been even more wicked than the surrounding nations. She has refused to obey the regulations and decrees I gave her to follow.

“Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: You people have behaved worse than your neighbors and have refused to obey my decrees and regulations. You have not even lived up to the standards of the nations around you. Therefore, I myself, the Sovereign Lord, am now your enemy. I will punish you publicly while all the nations watch. Because of your detestable idols, I will punish you like I have never punished anyone before or ever will again. 10 Parents will eat their own children, and children will eat their parents. I will punish you and scatter to the winds the few who survive.

11 “As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I will cut you off completely. I will show you no pity at all because you have defiled my Temple with your vile images and detestable sins. 12 A third of your people will die in the city from disease and famine. A third of them will be slaughtered by the enemy outside the city walls. And I will scatter a third to the winds, chasing them with my sword. 13 Then at last my anger will be spent, and I will be satisfied. And when my fury against them has subsided, all Israel will know that I, the Lord, have spoken to them in my jealous anger.

14 “So I will turn you into a ruin, a mockery in the eyes of the surrounding nations and to all who pass by. 15 You will become an object of mockery and taunting and horror. You will be a warning to all the nations around you. They will see what happens when the Lord punishes a nation in anger and rebukes it, says the Lord.

16 “I will shower you with the deadly arrows of famine to destroy you. The famine will become more and more severe until every crumb of food is gone. 17 And along with the famine, wild animals will attack you and rob you of your children. Disease and war will stalk your land, and I will bring the sword of the enemy against you. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

Make your plans and go!!! …. or?

are-you-listening

“And now, son of man, take a large clay brick and set it down in front of you. Then draw a map of the city of Jerusalem on it. Show the city under siege. Build a wall around it so no one can escape. Set up the enemy camp, and surround the city with siege ramps and battering rams. Then take an iron griddle and place it between you and the city. Turn toward the city and demonstrate how harsh the siege will be against Jerusalem. This will be a warning to the people of Israel.

“Now lie on your left side and place the sins of Israel on yourself. You are to bear their sins for the number of days you lie there on your side. I am requiring you to bear Israel’s sins for 390 days—one day for each year of their sin. After that, turn over and lie on your right side for 40 days—one day for each year of Judah’s sin.

“Meanwhile, keep staring at the siege of Jerusalem. Lie there with your arm bared and prophesy her destruction. I will tie you up with ropes so you won’t be able to turn from side to side until the days of your siege have been completed. ~ Ezekiel 4:1-8

I love how God instructs Ezekiel to build the little city on a clay brick, and then lay a big skillet in front of it showing how big the siege is that is coming.

But then God goes deeper and instructs him to go home and God will tie him up so he can’t move and to lay on one side for 390 days and then on the other side for 40 days while staring at the siege of Jerusalem that he put together out of the brick and the skillet. He was not able to turn side to side but only remain until the siege have been completed — 430 days!! That is just strange …. what if God asked this of me? you? the church?

The question is why and what does this have to do with me or my walk with the Lord?

Well God actually answers this question when He says “You are to bear the burden of……” so now what about me, you and the church? IF we truly want to win souls, family members, friends, co-workers, school-mates, neighbors etc….. and as a church if we truly want to win our city, cities and beyond it starts with PRAYER, INTERCESSION and TAKING ON THE BURDENS OF THESE PEOPLE and CITIES!!

We make mission statements, spend thousands of $$ on out reach programs, teach how to witness, make plans, we tells our friends and co-workers etc but if we GO without the POWER of the Living God and we have no burden of where they live in this life… it’s pretty much dead works.

An individual and a church, if they are serious about winning souls, city, cities and the world…. they MUST BE SERIOUS about PRAYER and INTERCESSON for souls, cities and the world! Ezekiel spend over a year bound up, eating little and some pretty gross stuff laying on his side staring at a little model of the city…. by the end of this experience HE WAS READY, EMPOWERED, and BURDENED to get out there and speak for God!!!

Listen up for this is a good word!!!!

Now go out and have an EPIC day today!!!

ONLY speak when HE says speak… it’s so hard to do

20517

16 After seven days the Lord gave me a message. He said, 17 “Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for Israel. Whenever you receive a message from me, warn people immediately. 18 If I warn the wicked, saying, ‘You are under the penalty of death,’ but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible for their deaths. 19 If you warn them and they refuse to repent and keep on sinning, they will die in their sins. But you will have saved yourself because you obeyed me.

20 “If righteous people turn away from their righteous behavior and ignore the obstacles I put in their way, they will die. And if you do not warn them, they will die in their sins. None of their righteous acts will be remembered, and I will hold you responsible for their deaths. 21 But if you warn righteous people not to sin and they listen to you and do not sin, they will live, and you will have saved yourself, too.”

22 Then the Lord took hold of me and said, “Get up and go out into the valley, and I will speak to you there.” 23 So I got up and went, and there I saw the glory of the Lord, just as I had seen in my first vision by the Kebar River. And I fell face down on the ground.

24 Then the Spirit came into me and set me on my feet. He spoke to me and said, “Go to your house and shut yourself in. 25 There, son of man, you will be tied with ropes so you cannot go out among the people. 26 And I will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth so that you will be speechless and unable to rebuke them, for they are rebels. 27 But when I give you a message, I will loosen your tongue and let you speak. Then you will say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says!’ Those who choose to listen will listen, but those who refuse will refuse, for they are rebels. ~ Ezekiel 3:16-27

This is pretty stinking clear — speak when God tells you to speak. God knows how we tend to speak when we shouldn’t, we speak for him, it’s so easy for man to say “thus sayeth the Lord” and give a message to people that have no power and no meaning.

God tells Ezekiel that if he tells him to speak to people and he doesn’t deliver the message their blood/death is on his hands, but if he does tell them and they don’t listen he is FREE of whatever happens to them. WOWZERS!!! That is huge huge huge. NEVER speak for God unless God tells you to… period!! This is different than quoting scriptures to someone, giving them the “word” … this is warnings from God about a life being led by someone. Think about how the Christians in this world speak to gays, Muslims, people who have or perform abortions, and the list can go on…. we cannot speak for God, we CAN give scripture, but we cannot say more than that UNLESS God himself directs you and GIVES you the words. (eat the scroll….)

This is so important and we are so prideful thinking we know look what God does to Ezekiel (who is a mighty man in the Lord) “Go to your house and shut yourself in.

Get it? Got it? GOOD… Now go out and have an EPIC day today
